Me.
Because that seems to be the operative question considering that every importer jumped on the band wagon of selling personal protective equipment back in March of 2020 when the entire Country went on official lock-down due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. I have to admit I did too. I asked myself, what advantages did I have over experienced importers that already have their manufacturers vetted and local distribution facilities in the United States? Needless to say I was bewildered with just how complex all the discussions and political semantics I was about to preoccupy myself with. Now I thought long and hard about what my first blog will be, and decided the only way to start was to add some insight on my PPE journey especially after having weeks of discussions with overseas partners and domestic relationships. In addition the blog would be on hold until I truly was able to establish some revenue and value for the company. Let's jump right into May 2020 particularly with the knowledge of the raw cost I gained on specific PPE. Considering this was a global pandemic our Country was facing fierce competition with others due to turn-key exporting methods coupled with advanced payment in order to acquire personal protective equipment in the peak of recent pandemic. After nearly two months of constant business development or executing the best elevator sales pitch, my PPE journey seemed bleak. The main reason is everyone I spoke with had some connection in one way shape or form to a buyer, but I was never truly in discussions with one that had the authority to purchase PPE supplies. Over a dozen discussions to submit FDA Certificates, Lab-Test results, whether or not the product had a 510K approval or even a UPC was often communicated in Whatsapp, Wechat, or even via text messages. This was certainly a long drawn out process that lead to no fruition for nearly two months. Hence building an entirely new website with the products we sale at low cost and if not as close to Pre-Covid-19 PPE prices. |
WELCOME TO MY BLOG!My blog will focus on my personal approach and business charter through the PPE Industry. I will discuss my personal experiences through the COVID-19 Pandemic. Archives
